US-Japan Future Forum(日米未来フォーラム)について
US-Japan Future Forum（日米未来フォーラム）は、次世代を担う日本と米国の若者のために、そして日米両国の新しい関係を考え行動することを目的として、2006年から毎年カリフォルニア州シリコンバレーにて開催されています。本団体US-Japan Forum（日米フォーラム）設立者の井手祐二氏が、当時鹿児島大学シリコンバレーオフィス所長を務めていた時に開始したのが始まりでした。
第一回目は「戦後日系移民50周年記念」をテーマに開催されましたが、その後、2007年「世界に通じる人間教育」、2008年「燃ゆる思ひ」、2009年「近代日本の夜明け」、2010年「遣米使節団１５０周年」、2011「The Youngest Last Samurai」、2012年「SAKURA --- Forever Our Friendship---」、2013年「Recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake」、2014年「米国における高速鉄道の将来」、2015年「カリフォルニアのワイン王・長沢鼎」、2016年「米国に柔道を広めた男：内田ヨシヒロ」、2017年「Innovation Employing Bio-Signal Technology」、2018年「明治維新とカリフォルニア・ゴールドラッシュ」、2019年「The Future of Space Exploration」、2023年「Future Life with AI Technology」など、日米間に関する様々なテーマを掲げ、基調講演とパネルディスカッションも実施しています。例年、在サンフランシスコ日本国総領事、日本学術振興会サンフランシスコ研究連絡センター長、JUNBA代表者、サンノゼ州立大学学長のほか、日本の多くの大学から学長、理事クラスを含め教職員と学生の参加もあります。
また参加学生達を中心に、医療、教育、環境、経済、食糧、平和に関する世界共通の課題を解決するために、日米間の学生同士で事前にディスカッションをし、日米未来フォーラムで発表をします。帰国後の参加学生は各分野において世界共通の課題を解決するグローバル人材として活躍しています。
About the US-Japan Future Forum
The US-Japan Future Forum has been held annually to discuss the evolving relationship between the U.S. and Japan and our shared goal of a prosperous future.
The founder and the President of US-Japan Forum, Yuji Ide, a former professor and the Executive Director of Kagoshima University North American Center at that time (2004-2013), has started the US-Japan Future Forum in 2006.
The 1st US-Japan Future Forum was held with the theme of "The 50th anniversary of postwar Japanese immigration". Then, the forum has been continued as "Human Education for the Global Age" in 2007, "Ambitions for the Future" in 2008, "The Rise of Modern Japan" in 2009, "The 150 year anniversary of the dispatch of the first diplomatic mission between Japan and the US" in 2010, "The Youngest Last Samurai" in 2011, "SAKURA - Forever Our Friendship-" in 2012, "Recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake" in 2013, "The Future of High-Speed Rail in the U.S" in 2014, and "The Grape King of California-Kanae Nagasawa-" in 2015, "The Man Who Spread Judo in the U.S. -Yosh Uchida-" in 2016, " Innovation Employing Bio-Signal Technology " in 2017, "Meiji Restoration and California Gold Rush" in 2018. There are keynote speeches and panel discussions with verious themes regarding the U.S. and Japan every year. Attendees include: the Consul General of Japan in San Francisco, the Director of JSPS San Francisco, the President of JUNBA, and the President, deans, chairs, and professors of SJSU, many academia and students from 15 Japanese universities. Student-led presentations on the global common issues also have been presented.

About 100 students of the U.S. and Japan have discussed about the global common issues at San Jose State University.
San Jose州立大学にて約１００名の日米の学生が、世界共通の課題について６グループに分かれてディスカッションを行いました。
ホテル会議室にて事前講義を受け、Stanford Universityと NASAを訪問
Stanford大学医学部教授の講義、ビジネススクールの学生による説明、Cantor Museum、Stanford Church訪問
UC Berkeleyの工学部の研究室にて見学と講義を受けた後、学生交流を実施しました。
